Eskişehir driver fined 46,000 lira after police seize unregistered electric motorcycle
Police conducted a traffic check in the Tepebaşı district of Eskişehir, Turkey, targeting motorcycles and electric scooters. During the inspection, 27‑year‑old Ümit Ç. was stopped for riding his wife’s electric motorcycle without a licence plate and without a helmet.
The authorities seized the vehicle for one month, confiscated Ç.’s driver’s licence for the same period and imposed a fine of 46,000 Turkish lira. After the enforcement, the driver expressed frustration and continued his journey by taking a taxi from the nearby street.
The incident illustrates the local police’s enforcement of vehicle registration and safety regulations for electric two‑wheelers.
