Eskişehir driver indicted for fatal motorcycle collision

An indictment has been prepared against Levent Ç. following a fatal traffic accident in the Tepebaşı district of Eskişehir. The driver is accused of “Taksirle Ölüme Neden Olma” (causing death by negligence).

The incident occurred on October 4, 2026, on Eti Street. According to reports, Levent Ç. attempted an abrupt left turn after moving his light commercial vehicle from a parked position. This maneuver resulted in a collision with a motorcycle operated by Berfin Yılmaz, a 22-year-old second-year student in the Robotics and Artificial Intelligence program at Eskişehir Osmangazi University.

Yılmaz was severely injured and transported to Yunus Emre State Hospital, where she passed away the following day. An expert report concluded that the driver was primarily at fault due to failing to sufficiently check the road and acting in a careless and imprudent manner. The case has been forwarded to the Eskişehir Criminal Court of First Instance.
