Eskişehir university student attacked in street assault
Hiranur Dereli, a 19-year-old political science student at Anadolu University, was physically assaulted while walking in the Tepebaşı district of Eskişehir. The incident occurred near Sıhhiye Square in the Tunalı neighborhood.
According to reports, an unidentified individual had been attempting to stop vehicles in traffic and attacking citizens near an ATM before targeting Dereli. The assailant reportedly ran toward the student and struck her in the head with a punch, causing her to fall approximately one meter. Dereli sustained swelling to her head, eye, arm, and hip.
Due to the injuries sustained to her writing arm, Dereli expressed concern that she may be unable to participate in the upcoming KPSS (Public Personnel Selection Examination). Police responded to the scene and successfully apprehended the suspect, who is currently in custody. An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
