Eskişehir residents face pollution as industrial facilities remain in city center
Mehmet Ektaş, President of the Association for the Ideal of Justice, Law and Parliamentary Democracy (AHPADİ), has called for the relocation of industrial facilities from the center of Eskişehir to outlying areas.
Ektaş stated that remaining industrial sites, such as the Sugar Factory and TÜRASAŞ facilities, are causing significant odor, noise, air, and traffic pollution. He noted that while many private sector factories were moved to organized industrial zones since the late 1990s, these specific central facilities continue to impact the quality of life and health of residents. Additionally, the concentration of public institutions in the city center has contributed to increased traffic congestion and inadequate infrastructure.
