Eskişehir to host 18th International Terracotta Symposium
The 18th International Eskişehir Terracotta Symposium is scheduled to take place from September 2 to 6 at the Vecihi Hürkuş Aviation and Technology Park. Organized by the Tepebaşı Municipality, the event aims to bring together artists, scientists, and industry representatives to celebrate the region's historical terracotta and tile industry.
This year's symposium will feature eight artists: six from Turkey and two international participants, Mariko Okubo from Japan and Yin Chang from China. As part of the event's tradition, the artists will collaborate on a collective work to create an Atatürk Monument, which will also incorporate handmade flowers created by children.
Since its inception in 2001, the symposium has hosted 228 artists, including 159 Turkish and 69 foreign participants. The event has also contributed to academic discourse, with over 400 scientific papers published to date.
