Eskişehir, Turkey: Cylinder‑Loaded Trailer Detaches, Hits Driver‑Training Car, Two Injured

A municipal truck in Eskişehir, Turkey, was pulling a cylinder‑loaded trailer that broke free from its hitch while climbing a ramp in the Vadişehir neighbourhood of the Odunpazarı district. The runaway trailer rolled downhill and struck a car used for driver‑training on Yaşar Kemal Street. The vehicle, driven by 18‑year‑old trainee Mehmet Yakar, was severely damaged and both Yakar and his 74‑year‑old instructor Mustafa Karadeniz sustained injuries.

Police and ambulance crews arrived quickly, provided first aid and transported the victims to Eskişehir Osmangazi University Hospital. The detached trailer and its cylinders were later lifted from the road with a crane.

The incident highlights safety concerns with heavy‑load vehicles operating on steep ramps during driver‑training activities.
