Eskişehir Women's Craft Festival Elevates Household Income
From 5‑7 June 2026, Eskişehir’s Ulus Meydanı hosted a three‑day Yaz Festival organized by the Üreten Kadınlar Platformu and Turan Teşkilatı Derneği. The event displayed a wide range of handmade products—jewellery, bags, clothing, gifts, ceramics and traditional art such as tile painting—produced by local women.
Festival participants said the platform allows them to turn home‑based crafts into sales, directly supporting their family budgets. El‑arts teacher Hülya Yücel noted, “Here we have a space created by the Turan Association where women can avoid idle time, contribute to production, and even rehabilitate through this activity.” Platform founder Neslihan Yörüksoy added that the venue lets women “express themselves and feel proud to help their families.” The fair attracted many visitors, providing both economic and social benefits to the community.
