Eskişehir’s Yıldıztepe neighborhood protests illegal trash dumping
Residents of Yıldıztepe in Eskişehir’s Odunpazarı district gathered near Efeler Park to denounce the illegal dumping of household and solid waste beside municipal trash containers. They report that waste is left throughout the day, creating odor, visual pollution and health concerns, and they call for stricter enforcement of collection schedules and increased monitoring.
Municipal officials stress that waste containers are essential for urban and rural sanitation, but large items such as furniture, appliances, white goods and glass are not accepted in regular collections. They must be arranged through special bulky‑waste services, with hotlines (e.g., Odunpazarı’s 4446144) provided for residents to schedule pickup, aiming to prevent the problems highlighted by the protest.
