Eskom and Transnet announce new training opportunities in South Africa
South African state-owned enterprises Eskom and Transnet have announced new training and development opportunities for students and graduates.
Eskom is recruiting four Learner Artisans for apprenticeship training at the Kriel Power Station in Mpumalanga. The program offers institutionalized and on-the-job training across various technical fields, including mechanical, electrical, civil, and welding. Applicants must be South African citizens and meet specific academic requirements in mathematics, science, and English. The application deadline is 28 August 2026.
Transnet has launched an 18-month Work Integrated Learning Non-Technical Learner Programme. This initiative aims to provide students and recent TVET College graduates with practical workplace experience in the Eastern Cape, Durban, and Western Cape. The program focuses on administrative and professional skills, such as research, reporting, stakeholder engagement, and process improvement, as part of Transnet’s youth development efforts.
