ESO CEO Renaldas Radvila to step down following storm response
The board of Energijos skirstymo operatorius (ESO) has accepted the resignation of CEO Renaldas Radvila. Radvila will remain in his position until September 30, after which Audrius Ruseckas, the head of finance and administration, will serve as interim CEO.
Radvila stated that he is taking responsibility for the company’s performance, noting that while storms cannot be controlled, the organization should have been better prepared. His departure follows significant challenges caused by a severe storm on August 22, which left some residents without electricity and prompted political questions regarding the company's preparedness and responsibility.
As of the latest reports, 224 customers in the Utena region, particularly in the Zarasai district, remained without power. Additionally, over 6,400 residents have submitted requests for compensation due to direct losses experienced during the prolonged power outages. The Ignitis Group has initiated a search for a new permanent CEO.
