Bryan Zaragoza nears move from FC Bayern to Espanyol

Bryan Zaragoza is nearing a move from FC Bayern München to RCD Espanyol. The 24-year-old winger has reportedly given his consent to the transfer, which is expected to be a loan deal including an option to buy. Espanyol's sporting director, Monchi, has identified Zaragoza as a top priority to strengthen the team's attacking flanks before the summer transfer window closes.

Zaragoza, who joined Bayern in early 2024, has struggled to secure a regular place in the squad, appearing in only seven Bundesliga matches. His move to Spain follows several previous loan spells at clubs including Osasuna, Celta Vigo, and AS Roma.

Simultaneously, FC Bayern is working to reduce its squad size. Alongside Zaragoza, the club is looking to move on defender Sacha Boey. Boey was recently omitted from the matchday squad for the Supercup against Borussia Dortmund, a move interpreted as a clear signal from sporting director Max Eberl that the player is not part of the long-term plans for the upcoming season.
