EsPCEx exam path for Brazilian Army officers

The EsPCEx (Army Preparatory School for Cadets) entrance exam serves as the starting point for a five-year training program designed to prepare individuals for careers as officers in the Brazilian Army.

Candidates must be between 17 and 22 years old. The selection process includes an intellectual exam covering Portuguese, Mathematics, History, Geography, English, Chemistry, and Physics, alongside an eliminatory essay.

Successful candidates spend their first year of training at EsPCEx in Campinas, São Paulo. Upon successful completion, students proceed to the Military Academy of Agulhas Negras (AMAN) in Resende, Rio de Janeiro, for four years of academic and military training, where they specialize in areas such as Infantry, Cavalry, Artillery, or Engineering.
