ESPN explores new ways to cover WWE content

ESPN is currently in an “exploratory phase” regarding its relationship and coverage of WWE, according to sports betting analyst and host Joe Fortenbaugh.

During an interview with Denise Salcedo, Fortenbaugh explained that the network is evaluating how to best serve different audiences. The goal is to determine whether viewers prefer deep dives into wrestling storylines and match preparation or content designed to attract non-wrestling fans by highlighting personal connections, such as a wrestler’s interest in other sports like football.

Fortenbaugh noted that the network is working to “marry the two” approaches to provide both the “peek behind the curtain” that hardcore fans desire and accessible content for a broader viewership.
