ESPN to debut RedZone branded tennis coverage at US Open

ESPN is expanding its “RedZone” brand beyond football by introducing “RedZone at the US Open” during the upcoming tennis tournament. This marks the first time the network has applied the RedZone whip-around coverage format to a sport other than the NFL.

The new show will feature action from all 16 courts during the early rounds of the tournament. It is scheduled to debut on August 30 and run through September 4, airing daily from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. ET. The coverage will be a separate production from ESPN’s linear coverage and the USTA’s host broadcast, utilizing a rotation of hosts from ESPN’s existing tennis roster.

While inspired by the NFL format, ESPN programming director John Suchenski Sr. stated the show will be “unique in its own way,” with specific branding and color schemes tailored to the US Open. The whip-around feed will be available exclusively to ESPN Unlimited subscribers. Additionally, ESPN confirmed that all US Open matches this year will be restricted to ESPN Unlimited subscribers, following similar models used for the Australian Open and Wimbledon.
