Esporte Clube Vitória searches for new manager following defeat

Esporte Clube Vitória football director Sérgio Papellin confirmed the club is actively searching for a new head coach following the dismissal of Jair Ventura. Speaking after a 3-0 loss to Fluminense in the Campeonato Brasileiro, Papellin noted that several potential candidates have declined offers due to the tight remaining schedule of the season.

The club is looking for a professional who can manage the final matches of the current campaign while also assisting with planning for the 2027 season. Papellin emphasized that despite having only approximately 13 days left in the current stretch, the club remains open to an immediate hire if the candidate possesses the right profile.

Additionally, Papellin addressed reports of interest from Remo. He stated that the current vice-president of Remo, who is a presidential candidate, approached him regarding a potential move. Papellin declined the conversation, asserting that his current focus remains on Vitória, though he did not rule out discussing future opportunities at the end of the year.
