Esportes da Sorte seeks to terminate Corinthians sponsorship contract

Esportes da Sorte has notified Corinthians of its intention to rescind its master sponsorship contract without paying a penalty. The agreement, which was set to run until December 2029, involves annual payments of R$ 150 million, with potential totals reaching R$ 200 million based on met goals.

The dispute follows a federal provisional measure that suspended the operations of virtual casinos and betting houses in Brazil as of October 6. While the contract is currently suspended, Corinthians disagrees with the termination request and is seeking a solution through legal negotiations. The club maintains that if the rescission is finalized, the company should be liable for a fine.

Corinthians is monitoring upcoming legal developments, including a Supreme Federal Court hearing scheduled for November 3, which is expected to impact betting regulations. In the interim, the club has utilized alternative branding on its uniforms, including Jota.ai and Shopee.
