Esports Boom Spurs Venue Infrastructure and Global Event Expansion
The global esports market is projected to generate $5.1 billion in revenue by 2026 and attract nearly 925 million users by 2030. This rapid growth is prompting venue operators to adopt specialized HVAC systems that can handle continuous heat from gaming PCs, monitors, networking gear and large audiences, with guidance from ASHRAE on load calculations, ventilation, humidity control and noise reduction.
Investment in the sector is also rising, with the Esports Foundation committing more than $100 million to support competitions such as the Esports World Cup in Paris (starting July 8, 2026) and the Nations Cup in Riyadh. New media coverage includes a Prime Video series that follows players from over 100 countries, underscoring esports' shift from niche subculture to a mainstream global sport.
