Esports Nations Cup postponed to November 2027
The Esports Foundation has announced the postponement of the inaugural Esports Nations Cup (ENC) from November 2026 to November 2027. Originally scheduled to take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, the decision follows an assessment of the wider regional situation and consultations with key stakeholders.
Organizers stated that the delay is intended to provide the certainty and stability required for the competition, which involves teams and stakeholders from more than 100 countries and territories. Esports Foundation CEO Ralf Reichert emphasized that the decision was not taken lightly and that the organization remains committed to delivering a world-class event under the right conditions.
The foundation clarified that Saudi Arabia remains capable of hosting major sporting and entertainment events as planned. The postponement will not affect existing commitments to the ENC Development Fund or ongoing initiatives to build national esports ecosystems.
