Brazil's iCS launches R$4 million climate communication grant

The Instituto Clima e Sociedade (iCS) opened applications on Monday, 3 August, for a national grant totalling R$4 million aimed at projects that communicate climate change. About ten initiatives will be selected, each receiving between R$200,000 and R$500,000 to be implemented over a year. The first‑stage deadline is 31 August at 16:00.

Eligibility includes civil‑society organisations with a CNPJ, companies, consultancies and collectives, networks or social movements that can partner with a legally registered entity. Applicants must demonstrate at least three years of experience in climate‑related communication or socio‑environmental work. Projects are expected to use innovative formats such as podcasts, games, immersive experiences, urban interventions, cultural productions, stand‑up comedy and artificial‑intelligence tools to broaden public reach, engagement and mobilisation. iCS manager Tatiana Lobão said the aim is to strengthen the collective impact of climate messages and support policies that reach new sectors of society.
