Lorenzo Pazolini elected Governor of Espírito Santo
Lorenzo Pazolini (Republicanos) has been elected Governor of Espírito Santo following a second-round victory in the 2026 elections. Pazolini, the former mayor of Vitória, secured approximately 52% of the valid votes, defeating the incumbent governor Ricardo Ferraço (MDB), who received roughly 48%.
Pazolini, a 44-year-old lawyer and former civil police delegate, will assume office on January 6, 2027, serving a four-year term until 2030. His campaign focused on public security, fiscal rigor, and infrastructure development, including proposals for new hospitals and prisons. He will be accompanied by Vice-Governor Eliane Leal (PL).
The election marks a shift in the state's political landscape, ending the long-standing influence of the political groups led by former governors Renato Casagrande and Paulo Hartung. Pazolini's victory follows a strong first-round performance where he secured nearly 50% of the votes.
