Espírito Santo maintains top fiscal rating and social progress

Espírito Santo has maintained its top-tier fiscal management status, receiving the A+ rating from the National Treasury Secretariat (STN) for the third consecutive year. This classification is based on high scores in Payment Capacity (Capag) and the Quality of Accounting and Fiscal Information. Governor Ricardo Ferraço stated that this fiscal responsibility serves as a tool to enable investments in public works and services.

In regional governance, the State Court of Accounts (TCE-ES) held its second ‘Café com Prefeito’ meeting in Vitória. The event provided guidance to municipal managers on topics including tax reform, infrastructure, public-private partnerships, and preparedness for El Niño impacts. During the session, mayors also signed the ‘Pacto Capixaba pela Primeira Infância’.

On social development, the municipality of Marataízes ranked seventh in Espírito Santo in the 2026 Social Progress Index (IPS). With a score of 65.28, Marataízes led the Southern region of the state and exceeded the state average across all three evaluated dimensions: Basic Human Needs, Foundations of Well-being, and Opportunity.
