Espírito Santo police arrest two in pregnant woman's murder

Police in Espírito Santo have arrested two suspects following the discovery of the dismembered and carbonized body of Juliana Paulo Pinto, a 29-year-old pregnant woman. The victim was found in Cachoeiro de Itapemirim alongside a fuel canister and a sandal.

The suspects, identified as the victim's ex-husband, Diego Marques Alves, and his current fiancée, Geovana Maria Vieira, were arrested for the concealment of a corpse. Alves reportedly confessed to the killing, citing disagreements and legal disputes as the motive.

The investigation began after the victim's current partner reported her missing on October 12, noting she had disappeared while taking her 11-year-old son to visit the ex-husband. Security footage from a gas station captured the suspects' vehicle on the night of the disappearance.
