Esquel seeks to boost international tourism for 2027 solar eclipse
Esquel is working with national and provincial authorities to enhance international promotion and air connectivity in anticipation of the annular solar eclipse on February 6, 2027. The event has already drawn interest from international operators who are marketing travel packages centered on observing the phenomenon in the Chubut province.
Local officials are focusing on strengthening the region's infrastructure, including airport improvements, to accommodate the expected influx of visitors. Additionally, the city is highlighting its specialized management models, such as the Esquel LAB destination laboratory and the Esquel Mountain System, to support local entrepreneurs and organize tourism circuits.
