Esquimalt community art and zine library celebrates one year

A community-led art and zine library on Nelson Street in Esquimalt has been operating for one year, serving as a creative hub for local residents. Established by Sonya Gracey, a former Victoria city councillor and current art therapist, the project aims to provide a free and accessible space for creative exchange.

Community members are encouraged to share various forms of artwork, including sculptures, paintings, jewelry, poetry, and short stories. The library also facilitates the sharing of zines, which allow individuals to distribute self-published works outside of traditional publishing channels. Gracey designed the space to inspire creativity and foster community engagement.
