Esri España to host major GIS conference focusing on AI and digital twins

Esri España is hosting its annual GIS user conference at IFEMA, focusing on the themes of intelligent AI and living digital twins. CEO Ángeles Villaescusa described the event as the largest gathering of GIS information users and clients in Spain.

The conference highlights real-world applications across multiple sectors, including environmental sustainability, energy transition, and socioeconomic management. Notable case studies include projects by Iberdrola, Repsol, Edp, and Canal de Isabel II. Additionally, local administration successes, such as data governance in Fuenlabrada, will be showcased.

A major highlight is the use of digital twins in the construction of the Madrid Formula 1 circuit by Acciona. This technology was used to manage traffic flows, routes, and safety in real time, serving as a precedent for future large-scale infrastructure projects.
