Essential Energy announces major planned outage for Uralla and Walcha
Essential Energy has announced a planned power outage scheduled for Tuesday, September 29, affecting 4,267 customers in the Uralla and Walcha regions. The outage is expected to last approximately seven hours, from 9am to 4pm, to allow crews to perform essential network maintenance.
In addition to Uralla and Walcha, the outage will impact most customers in Arding, Balala, Gostwyck, Kentucky, Kentucky South, Mihi, Nowendoc, Rocky River, Salisbury Plain, Tia, Wollun, and Yarrowitch.
Essential Energy stated the maintenance is necessary to ensure the safety and reliability of the electricity network before the summer and bushfire season begins on October 1. The company chose a Tuesday for the outage to minimize disruption to local tourism and trade, allowing businesses to arrange for portable generators if needed.
