Essex railway line closed due to vandalism and cable theft

Vandalism on the Central Line has caused significant disruption for commuters traveling between Essex and London. The section of the line between Loughton and Epping is currently closed due to equipment damage.

British Transport Police reported being called at approximately 9:50 p.m. on Wednesday, August 26, regarding reports of cable theft in the Theydon Bois area. An investigation into the incident is ongoing.

Transport for London (TfL) has advised passengers traveling beyond Loughton to change trains there. During the disruption, tickets are being accepted on London Buses and Greater Anglia services.
