Essex vehicle repair workshop and home destroyed by accidental fire

An accidental fire has destroyed the workshop and home of D and K Vehicle Services in Little Walden, Essex. The blaze began when a vehicle caught fire on an MOT ramp and spread rapidly through the building.

The Essex County Fire and Rescue Service deployed six fire engines and a water bowser, with additional assistance from crews in Suffolk and Cambridgeshire. Residents were advised to keep windows and doors closed due to heavy smoke.

The business owners reported the loss of their entire workshop, all equipment, and the home they had spent ten years building. The fire service confirmed the cause was accidental.
