EssilorLuxottica and Meta expand AI glasses to ten new markets
EssilorLuxottica and Meta have announced a major expansion of their AI-powered eyewear portfolio into ten new international markets. The expansion includes Poland, Portugal, Israel, South Africa, Indonesia, Thailand, Hong Kong, New Zealand, Malaysia, and the Philippines.
The rollout features several product lines, including the third-generation Ray-Ban Meta glasses, which offer various lens and frame combinations, and the camera-free Ray-Ban Meta Audio models. The Meta-branded collection will also include Capri and Nova styles, alongside new models designed by LISA. While the hardware is expanding globally, certain software features, such as the Muse personal AI agent and Hearing Enhancement, are currently restricted to the United States.
In addition to wearable technology, EssilorLuxottica reported clinical progress in its medical segment. A six-month study in China regarding Essilor Stellest 2.0 lenses for myopia control showed significant results in slowing the progression of nearsightedness in children, matching the efficacy previously seen only after twelve months with older generations.
