EssilorLuxottica board reaffirms confidence in CEO Milleri

The board of directors of EssilorLuxottica has unanimously expressed full confidence in the leadership and long-term strategy of the group. In a formal statement, the board reaffirmed its support for Chairman and CEO Francesco Milleri and Deputy CEO Paul du Saillant, citing the solidity of the company's results as confirmation of the current management approach.

This move follows public comments made by Leonardo Maria Del Vecchio, a descendant of the founder, during the Ambrosetti Forum. Del Vecchio called for a change in strategy, noting that the company has seen a significant decline in stock market value. He emphasized the need for a clear, long-term vision that serves all shareholders, rather than just the Delfin group, and stated that the future of Milleri’s leadership, which is due for review in the spring, would be decided by the majority of Delfin's partners based on performance.
