EssilorLuxottica reports strong third-quarter sales driven by core eyewear
EssilorLuxottica has reported third-quarter sales of €7.49 billion, exceeding analyst forecasts and driving share prices higher in Paris. Despite concerns regarding a slowdown in the smart glasses market, the company’s traditional eyewear business remains a robust growth driver.
Revenue rose 9.0% at current exchange rates, with the direct-to-consumer segment seeing a 10.6% increase at constant currency. While wearables revenue grew by 20% to €486 million, the growth rate for smart glasses, including those made with Meta, has slowed compared to previous periods.
The company saw strong performance in the Asia-Pacific region and a recovery in luxury licensed brands such as Chanel, Prada, and Miu Miu. This financial stability comes amid a broader global eyewear market characterized by significant consolidation, where major players like EssilorLuxottica, Marcolin, and Safilo hold substantial market influence.
