Estadio Alejandro Borges to test new LED lighting system next week

The Alejandro Borges Stadium in Maracaibo is undergoing a major modernization of its lighting system, with technical testing scheduled to begin next week. The project involves installing state-of-the-art LED technology across eight lighting towers to facilitate high-level night games.

As part of the rehabilitation efforts led by the Maracaibo Mayor's Office, technicians have already installed 14 LED luminaires, with eight more remaining for the outfield areas. The new system features high-resistance components designed to withstand heavy rain and high temperatures, with an estimated service life of 20 years.

In addition to the lighting, the project includes upgrading electrical circuits with independent panels for irrigation, offices, and stands. Other improvements involve field maintenance, dugout conditioning, and painting the stands. Daniela Jiménez, president of the Municipal Institute of Sport and Recreation (IMDEPREC), stated that the modernization aims to provide professional playing conditions for local athletes and restore the stadium's capacity for nocturnal events.
