Estado de México establishes new transparency protocols after Infoem dissolution

Following the dissolution of the Institute for Transparency, Access to Public Information and Protection of Personal Data of the State of Mexico and Municipalities (Infoem), the State of Mexico has established new protocols for accessing public information.

According to an agreement from the Secretariat of the Comptroller published in the ‘Gaceta del Gobierno’, government agencies must continue to fulfill information requests and publish data through state platforms during this transition. Decree 365, published on October 1, established new state laws regarding transparency and data protection, effectively extinguishing Infoem. All historical archives, computer systems, and registries previously managed by the Institute will be transferred to the Secretariat of the Comptroller.
