Estado de México launches Ruta 202 tourism and commerce corridor

The Ruta 202 project has been launched in the State of Mexico to create a regional economic dynamic by linking tourism, gastronomy, commerce, and local crafts across eight municipalities. The initiative utilizes the construction of the Camino 202 to integrate Ocoyoacac, Texcalyacac, Xalatlaco, Santiago Tianguistenco, Almoloya del Río, Joquicingo, Capulhuac, and Tenango del Valle.

Supported by CANIRAC president Chef Christian Muñoz Tapia and Governor Delfina Gómez Álvarez, the corridor aims to promote local traditions, including traditional foods like mole, barbacoa, and pulque, as well as artisanal goods such as wood toys and wool rebozos. The project seeks to transform the new infrastructure into a cultural corridor through specific routes, such as the Santiago Tianguistenco Pilgrim Route and the Capulhuac Barbacoa Gastronomic Corridor.
