EsTalMat program welcomes new math students from León

Twenty-six students aged 12 and 13 from León and Ponferrada are joining a new edition of the EsTalMat (Estímulo del Talento Matemático) project. The participants were selected based on their logical reasoning abilities and interest in mathematics.

The program, which has been running since 2003, is organized by the Asociación Castellana y Leonesa de Educación Matemática Miguel de Guzmán with support from the Junta de Castilla y León. This year, nearly 130 students from across the Castilla y León region will participate.

Activities are scheduled to begin on October 7, leading up to a regional gathering on October 24 and 25 in the Sierra de Béjar, Salamanca. This event will include mathematical sessions and cultural visits to Béjar and Candelario, hosted at the Llano Alto complex. The two-year program is designed to provide advanced curricular content outside of regular school hours to allow students to remain in their normal social and educational environments.
