Estúdio Traça debuts Zanzalá collection through Levi’s partnership
Estúdio Traça, a Brazilian upcycling brand founded by Gui Amorim, has debuted its Zanzalá collection in São Paulo. The collection is the result of a two-year partnership with Levi’s, which provides pieces from its archive to be repurposed.
The Zanzalá collection features 25 looks constructed from Levi’s denim, utilizing deep deconstruction techniques to create new silhouettes such as modular tops, dresses, and redesigned trousers. Beyond denim, the brand incorporates leather scraps and lace sourced from the Bom Retiro district to create items like bikinis.
The collection’s concept draws inspiration from Brazilian science fiction, specifically the book ‘Zanzalá’ by Afonso Schmid, and connects the industrial history of Cubatão with creative reuse. Amorim describes the collaboration as a way to prove that sustainable fashion can be innovative and purposeful rather than rigid.
