Esteban Andrada returns to Monterrey after 13-match suspension

Argentine goalkeeper Esteban Andrada has returned to professional football with Monterrey following a 13-match suspension. The 35-year-old goalkeeper expressed regret for his actions during a match between Huesca and Real Zaragoza in April, where he struck opponent Jorge Pulido.

The total suspension consisted of five matches served with Real Zaragoza and eight matches served with Monterrey. Andrada made his return to the pitch during Monterrey’s 2-1 victory against Chicago Fire in the Leagues Cup quarterfinals.

Andrada described the period of inactivity as a “life lesson” and expressed gratitude to Monterrey for the opportunity to move forward. He noted that the return felt like a debut due to the length of his absence and stated his intention to regain his competitive rhythm.
