MasterChef franchise expands with new editions and restaurant openings in Argentina

The MasterChef franchise continues to dominate Argentine television through various formats and developments. In MasterChef Celebrity, recent episodes featured an aviation-themed challenge where participants prepared elevated versions of airplane meals. During this episode, Nazareno Casero secured his place in the competition, while Germán Martitegui was replaced on the judging panel by Fernando Trocca.

Amidst the show's popularity, chef Germán Martitegui is preparing to reopen his iconic restaurant, Tegui, in a new fine-dining format in Recoleta. This move highlights a trend of brand diversification within the culinary industry, where established names leverage media presence to launch new gastronomic ventures.

Telefe has also announced the upcoming premiere of MasterChef Junior on October 16. Hosted by Verónica Lozano, the third edition will feature twelve young contestants judged by Germán Martitegui, Maru Botana, and former winner Ian Lucas. The program will be broadcast simultaneously on Telefe and HBO Max.

Other developments include discussions regarding the show's behind-the-scenes operations. Former participant Esteban Mirol commented on the strict confidentiality agreements required by the production, while singer Hernán Coronel has drawn public interest following his appearance on the celebrity edition.
