Esteban Ocon willing to accept reserve role if no F1 seat

Esteban Ocon has stated he is willing to accept a reserve driver role in 2027 if he cannot secure a full-time Formula 1 race seat. The Frenchman, who is departing the Haas F1 Team, emphasized that his primary goal is to remain in Formula 1, ruling out participation in other racing categories for the near future.

Haas Team Principal Ayao Komatsu confirmed that the team will not retain Ocon for the 2027 season but noted there is ‘no ill feeling’ regarding the decision. Komatsu praised Ocon’s professionalism and his ability to act as a team player, specifically citing his conduct during the Baku Grand Prix. The team indicated they are looking for drivers who can provide consistency and work effectively with less-than-perfect machinery as they evaluate their 2027 lineup.
