Esteban Ribovics defeats King Green via TKO at UFC 332
At UFC 332 in Salt Lake City, Esteban Ribovics secured a first-round TKO victory over veteran King Green. The bout was marked by Ribovics scoring three knockdowns before referee Herb Dean intervened to stop the fight.
Following the stoppage, Green expressed frustration, stating he had requested Dean to let him “go out on my shield” and insisting he was still capable of continuing. UFC CEO Dana White addressed the controversy, noting that Dean has had a “difficult year” regarding officiating decisions, though he defended the stoppage given Green had been dropped three times in quick succession.
Ribovics also addressed a weight-miss issue prior to the fight. He weighed in at 156.5 pounds, 0.5 pounds over the lightweight limit, citing an air-conditioning malfunction in his hotel that prevented him from sweating effectively during his cut. As a result, Ribovics forfeited 20 percent of his purse and was ineligible for post-fight bonuses.
