Estefanía Laterza appointed as Paraguay's ambassador to the United States

Estefanía Laterza de los Ríos has formally assumed her role as the Ambassador of Paraguay to the United States. Following her swearing-in ceremony at the Palacio de López by President Santiago Peña, Laterza described the current state of bilateral relations as a ‘golden moment’ between the two nations.

Laterza succeeds Gustavo Leite, who returned to his position as a senator. The new ambassador has presented a strategic work plan to Congress consisting of six thematic axes designed to establish a permanent agenda for the coming decades. These priorities include political and parliamentary diplomacy, trade and investment, security and defense, science, innovation, and technology, education and academic cooperation, and support for the Paraguayan community residing in the United States.

The mission aims to transform existing cooperation into an institutionalized policy that transcends changes in government, strengthening strategic ties through increased engagement with both public and private sectors.
