Esteghlal FC defeats Sepahan SC 2-0 to lead Iranian Premier League

Esteghlal FC secured a 2-0 victory against Sepahan SC in the third week of the Iranian Premier League at the Shuhada-e-Shahr-e-Qods Stadium. The goals were scored by Yaser Asani in the 4th minute and Esmail Gholizadeh in the 10th minute.

With this win, Esteghlal remains at the top of the league table with nine points from three consecutive matches. The victory also marked several milestones, including Esteghlal reaching 1,100 total goals in the Premier League era and captain Rouzbeh Cheshmi making his 200th appearance for the club.

Prior to the match, Esteghlal coach Sohrab Bakhtiarizadeh announced a disciplinary decision to bench Alireza Koushki due to unprofessional behavior following a substitution in a previous game. Sepahan, led by Moharram Navidkia, remained in eighth place with three points following the defeat.
