Esteghlal FC manages player returns and league title dispute

Esteghlal FC is currently navigating two major administrative and roster challenges. The club is working to resolve the status of two foreign players: Haitian striker Nazon, who has not returned from leave in Iran, and Spanish goalkeeper Adan, whose contract has expired. While negotiations for Adan are progressing, a final agreement has not yet been reached. The club aims to resolve these issues before the upcoming intensive schedule involving the domestic league, Hazfi Cup, and the AFC Champions League.

Simultaneously, the Football Federation is conducting a special legal review to determine the official champion of the incomplete 1404-1405 Iranian Premier League season. Although the league was halted due to national circumstances, Esteghlal was recognized as the leader to secure an AFC Champions League spot. The club has repeatedly requested the official championship title, a move opposed by clubs such as Tractor and Sepahan, who argue that awarding the title without completing the season is unfair. The Federation is reviewing the matter based on domestic regulations and international football statutes.
