Estelí and San Nicolás face scheduled power outages in Nicaragua

The Nicaraguan Electric Power Transmission Company (ENATREL), in coordination with DISNORTE, has announced a scheduled power outage for several sectors in Estelí and San Nicolás on Friday, October 16, 2026.

The suspension is set to run from 12:00 midnight until 7:00 a.m. to allow for preventive maintenance and technical adjustments required for the installation of a power transformer in circuit EST4020. The outage will affect several health facilities, including the San Juan de Dios, Flor de Pino, and Las Segovias hospitals.

Urban areas affected include the Sandino, Leonel Rugama, La Joya, Boris Vega, Santo Domingo, Santa Elena, Villa Esperanza, 14 de Abril, Óscar Gámez, René Barrantes, and Carlos Núñez neighborhoods. Rural areas and communities such as Regadillo, La Sirena, El Jocote, Isidrillo, San Pedro, Villa Vieja, Las Calabazas, La Estanzuela, Santa Cruz, and La Laguna will also experience service interruptions. Additionally, sectors along the Pan-American highway between kilometers 132 and 160 will be impacted.
