Deaths of Estela Acosta in Argentina and four drowning victims in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico
In Tierra del Fuego, Argentina, 32‑year‑old Estela Acosta was found dead in a field on the Margen Sur of Río Grande after disappearing on the night of 27 July. Police and forensic investigators recovered her body on 29 July; an autopsy was ordered to determine the cause of death, with early examinations showing no visible injuries or signs of violence.
In western Mexico, authorities in Puerto Vallarta and the broader Jalisco region recovered four bodies from the Ameca and Mascota rivers within 36 hours. Three victims died from asphyxiation by submersion; the victims include two women and two men, one of whom was found trapped in sand on the Mascota River. Investigations are ongoing to establish the circumstances of each death, and officials have not confirmed any link between the cases.
Both incidents have prompted local investigations, forensic examinations, and continued police activity to identify the victims and determine the causes of death.
