Estelar airline flight makes emergency landing in Maracaibo
An Estelar airline flight, ES 8302, traveling from San Antonio del Táchira to Caracas, was forced to make an emergency landing in Maracaibo on Saturday, September 5, following a severe cabin depressurization.
During the flight, oxygen masks deployed as the crew initiated an emergency descent to reach a safe altitude. The aircraft was initially considered for a diversion to Barquisimeto but ultimately landed at La Chinita International Airport in Maracaibo around 6:00 p.m. without major reported consequences to the aircraft itself.
Following the landing, passengers reported being stranded at the terminal for over four hours without adequate assistance. Travelers, including children and the elderly, alleged a lack of sufficient food, hydration, and medical attention from the airline. Some passengers also reported experiencing anxiety, hypertension, and other ailments related to the depressurization event.
