Estelle Nze Minko begins handball comeback with France national team

French handball star and national team captain Estelle Nze Minko has begun her return to professional competition following maternity leave. The 35-year-old back player, who currently plays for the Hungarian club Győr, is participating in training sessions with the French national team ahead of upcoming test matches against Hungary.

Nze Minko expressed that returning to top-level competition as a mother provides a new sense of motivation. While she is working to regain her physical peak and confidence, she remains focused on the gradual process of returning to international standards, with the 2026 European Championship in mind.

The French squad has also seen other roster changes ahead of the October matches. Oriane Ondono has returned to the team following a knee injury, while Manon Errard has been called up to replace Alicia Toublanc-Nicolas, who is sidelined with a hamstring injury.
