Estephany Ley appointed CEO of Nu México

Nubank has announced the appointment of Estephany Paulette Ley as the new CEO of Nu México, effective this November. She succeeds Armando Herrera, who will transition into a role as senior advisor to Ley to ensure an orderly leadership handover through January 2027.

In addition to the CEO change, Rodrigo Kuri will take over as Chairman of the Board of Directors for Nu México. These leadership adjustments follow the company’s transition into a formal banking institution and are intended to strengthen strategic supervision, business stability, and institutional relations.

Ley brings over 15 years of experience in the financial and banking sectors, having previously held leadership positions at BanCoppel, Merrill Lynch, and Credit Suisse. Livia Chanes, CEO of Nubank for Latin America, stated that the changes come after the company successfully met its previous objectives of completing its banking transition and ensuring business profitability.
