Estepona awards contract for concrete beach walkways

The Estepona City Council has awarded a contract to Prefabricados López y Mochón S. L. for the supply and installation of prefabricated concrete walkways and decking for its beaches. The project, valued at 414,304 euros including VAT, involves 1,250 linear meters of fixed concrete walkways and 80 decking units for beach modules, showers, and foot washes.

The new 1.80-meter-wide walkways will feature a non-slip, wood-imitation concrete finish designed to improve durability and reduce maintenance compared to the existing wooden structures, which required seasonal removal and were prone to storm damage. The installation aims to enhance year-round accessibility for people with reduced mobility, complying with Andalusian regional accessibility regulations.

The contract includes several improvements, such as 30 additional walkway units and an extended four-year warranty period. While the walkway installation is moving forward, the procurement of various beach service modules for locations including El Padrón and La Rada remains in the bidding phase.
