Estepona to build new sports complex with indoor pool

The Estepona City Council has signed a contract for the construction and operation of a new sports complex in the Camino de las Mesas sector, located between Países Bajos, Francia streets, and Puerta del Mar avenue. Construction is scheduled to begin in early 2027.

The facility will feature a heated indoor swimming pool with spectator seating, 17 padel courts, two tennis courts, and two petanca courts. The complex will also include bathrooms, changing rooms, offices, and a parking area with 80 spaces. To promote sustainability, the project includes landscaping with low-maintenance plants and a proposal to use photovoltaic panels to cover at least 50% of the energy consumption.

The site will be operated under a 50-year concession by the winning company, which will pay an annual fee of 22,500 euros. Residents registered in Estepona will receive a 20% discount on facility usage. Additionally, the council plans to sign an agreement with the Estepona Swimming Club to allow them access to the new indoor pool for organized training.
